Phyllis Staats, assistant professor and junior adviser to the home-ec advi sory board, said students helped organ ize the event because they wanted to promote the college. The board began planning the events last spring. Lynne Grasz will speak about com munications at a student convocation during the week. Grasz, a UNL alum nus, is station services manager of the television information center at the Office of the National Association of Broadcasters in New York. The top senior will receive an award. This is the only event that costs money. The final event will be Friday. Natalie Hahn. an alumna of UNL and an inter national specialist for the food and agriculture organization of the United Nations, will present a collection of international traditional dresses she has collected over the years. Design students will model the clothing. Anthony said she hopes the week will be an annual event. Kerrey said the tax proposals ture back to Lincoln Friday for its second special session in four weeks to correct Nebraska's budget problems. Senators will convene at 2 p.m. Thursday for a session that may last from two to six weeks, Kerrey said at a news conference. He said he will announce the specific subjects that the Legislature will consider this ses sion at another news conference Tues day. The governor declined to reveal spe cific recommendations for finding about $28 million to balance the budget. But he said his proposals would include would not be "politically popular or easy." Kerrey said he called the session for Thursday to give senators up to six weeks before Thanksgiving to com plete their work. He said state senators whom he has talked to understand the session will take several weeks. The Legislature met in special ses sion Sept. 19-25 to approve a bill releas ing $8.5 million in state funds to depos itors of the failed Commonwealth Savings Co.
