After the successful European tour, the band returned to the states and signed with the prestigious I.R.S. record label. This past summer, "Staying Out Late..." was released in the United States and has been given critical acclaim. , Almaas' experience and his abilities as a songwriter have paid off with Beat Rodeo. The Los Angeles Herald called Beat Rodeo, "One of the prime American treats of the season." The Village Voice has called their LP one of the year's finest. Beat Rodeo introduces pop for country people By Kyle Foster Staff Reporter Country-pop, Big Apple style that's New York City's Beat Rodeo. . BR's debut album, "Staying Out Late With Beat Rodeo," is a furious mix of country-western and pop music styles without the loud, raunchy sound of country punksters Jasen and the Schorchers or the Beat Farmers. The 12-track album easily could have been titled "Pure Pop for Country People." If you listen hard enough, you can hear the influences of Nick Lowe, Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers and maybe even Elvis Costello throughout the record.
