After a long summer of hard work
and play, many UNL students return to
find some entertainment changes over
the summer.
Several restaurants opened this sum
mer. The Pizza Place, which offers
delivery, is open at the old Momma
Rosa's store, 3239 S. 13th St. Bridges, a
restaurant specializing in low calorie
meals, opened in the first level of the
Gunny's building, 13th and Q streets.
Marilyn's Cafe opened at 14th and 0
streets.
The Rotisscrie Restaurant, at 11th
and 0 streets, opened a cafe-bar on its
lower level.
The Lincoln Exchange, 132 S. 13th
St., closed indefinitely.
TCBY, an acronym for "the country's
best yogurt," opened at 14th and P
streets this summer. TCBY advertised
frozen yogurt sundaes as having "all
the pleasure, none of the guilt." Another
snack shop, Vic's Corn Popper, opened
at 14th and 0 streets. Vic's offers
gourmet and flavored popcorn.
Visitors to Gateway garden mall will
discover a food court, similar to the
Atrium's "Le Metro."
The Sidetrack, formerly at 7th and P
streets, moved to 935 0 St., in July. The
building is air conditioned and about
twice as large as the old, owner Joyce
Durand said.
During a fierce wind and rain storm
in June, the West 0 drive-in lost its
screen. Dubinsky Bros. Theatres, the
company that operated the discount
outdoor theater, has no plans to reopen
On campus, Sheldon Art Gallery's
morning hours were cut because of a
budget shortfall. The gallery now Is
open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday
through Satuday and Sundays from 2 to
