Wednesday, August 21, 1985 Daily Nebraskan Page5 Bookstore won't hike prices to pay for construction costs By Sandi Witkowicz Staff Reporter When Nebraska Bookstore moves into its new, larger building at 13th and Q streets in early 1986, students should see an improvement in bookstore ser vices, said Mark Oppegard, store gen eral manager. But they won't see any price hikes to pay the $2.8 million bonds used to finance construction, he said. "We won't change our (pricing) stra tegy," Oppegard said. "We look at the building as a long term project. We don't expect to get it paid off over night." Oppegard said the new building will have about three times more retail space than the present building, which has about 13,000 square feet for retail space. r-r t j a -rr - . Be cause of space limitations, he said, the store now offers most of its product mix in the middle price range. The store currently has about 50,000 titles in the general reading depart ment. That number is expected to increase by 20 percent to 25 percent. Oppegard said larger quantities of each title will be available. Please see BOOKSTORE on n nnngn LJ .'.
