Mrs. Perry Russ, left, and Donna Hunt put away the items that weren't sold at
their garage sale, 4730 Dryson St.
Analysis by Mike Grant
Staff Reporter
Looking for a way to furnish an apartment,
complete a wardrobe, and expand a book or
record collection, without breaking your budget?
Then look into the pastime that's sweeping
UNL garage sales.
Visiting garage and estate sales is a way to
find bargains, get exercise and meet people.
Lincoln is a good garage sale town. Because
the population seems to be shifting within a
two-mile radius of the capital, a steady supply of
people always want to sell goods.
For Carla Hiatt of 1337 Washington St., her
moving sale was a way to get rid of "junk" she
had accumulated.
"A lot of the out of the ordinary items, like
boxing gloves and a card shuffling machine have
sold quickly," she said.
