Ey Jef Apsl Nebraska baseball coach John Sanders gave Creighton's Jim Hendry a rude welcome in his coaching debut at Buck Eeltzer field Wednesday. Hendry, who over the weekend was forced to watch his Bluejays drop a pair of double headers at Indiana State, was forced to watch more of the same action, as the Huskers swept Creighton by scores of 12-7 and 3-1 for their first double header sweep of the Bluejays since 1881. "I can't really explain why we haven't been real successful with Creighton in the past," Sanders said. "But I can say that our sucqess today was built on the fact that we had two pretty good games, both offensively and de fensively. Shortstop Larry Mims, designated hitter Mark Kister and leftfielder Rich King started the Cornhusker's success by leading the assault on the Bluejay's Tom Drees as Nebraska pounded him for nine hits, three walks and seven runs in only four innings. rue Huskers' Eogcr Webb, Mark Davis, and Bill Mulligan ail countered Dress' performance by stopping Creighton cr, three earned rur.3 on ten hits snd seven walks. "I thought we played really well the first game," Sanders said. "We had a few breakdowns defensively (the Huskers committed a total of five errors in the game) but other than that we played really well." The Huskers carried their success over into the second game as the trio of Bret Beede, John Lepley and Bill "Earn Bam" McGuire held Creighton with only one hit and three walks while striking out six over seven innings.
