Despite the fact that this St.
Patrick's Day falls on a Sunday,
Lincoln businesses have planned
a variety of weekend entertainment to
celebrate it properly.
Most plant shops are stocking sham
rock plants. The cheapest I found were
from Danielson Florist, 127 S. 13th St.,
for $3.75. They also offer Oxalis plant3,
which roughly resemble clover, for
$3.75. Most florists also offer green
carnations ranging in price from $1 at
House of Flowers, 225 S. 11th St., to
$1.50 at University Floral, 118 N. Hth
St.
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church
and the Newman Center, 320 N. 16th
St., Sunday v.111 have their 15th annual
brunch centered cn a St. Patrick's
theme. The branch will feUure some
Irish foods, dong with games tr.d
homemade goods for sd. The brunch
is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the cost is
$4 for adults.
Most bars, such as O'Rourkes, 121 N.
14th St., and Du2y'3, 1412 0 St., will
offer green beer on request, but many
aren't going all out because of the
shortened bar hours cn Sundays. Some
restaurants and bars are, however,
offering some compelling entertain
ment. H.B. Brand's Restaurant and Patoots
Saloon, 800 P St., will have "Worst Irish
Tenor" contest tcrJght Cost is $2. The
contest winner will receive a free trip
for two to the Tutbery and dinner at
H.B. Brand's. Friday md Siturdgy night
they are serving Mickey's beer for 09
cents, Irish import beers Guiness
and Harp and Irish cream and coffee
drinks.
The Skylight Bistro, 235 N. 11th St.,
will serve its regular Irish drinks and
Chris Sayre will play from 9 p.m. to
closing Friday and Sunday nights,
featuring Irish folk music.
The following restaurants and bars
also will offer St. Patrick's Day specials
throughout the weekend:
Bill's Saloon, 1020 P St., will serve
Irish Whiskeys of the variety of Old
Bushmill and Jameson for $1, and an
Irish Kiss, a green drink made of
orange juice and blue curacao for $1,
along with green beer and Irish music
cn the juke box.
Brittany's Grand Edibles, 227 N.
Ninth St., will offer green beer draws
for 55 cents, corned beef and cabbage
for $3.95 and Irish stew for $3.05.
The Lucky Lady, 1033 O St., in the
lower level of the Gold's Gallsria Build
ing, will offer a mystical Irish punch for
$1.25 a glass Saturday night. There also
will be a special appearance by a
leprechaun, a blarney stone to kiss for
luck and lip-sync performances.
Chesterfield, Bottomsley & Fotts,
245 N. 13th St., will offer two-fers on
hamburgers and special Irish drinks. B
& the Hot Notes are playing Sunday
night. No cover.
Desserts 222, 222 S. 13th St., will
offer special St. Patrick's Day cakes
starting at $11.50 and specially decor
ated desserts.
Dinsdale's Restaurant and Lounge,
1228 P St., will offer specially priced
drinks Friday and Saturday night with
more than 10 Irish drinks to choose
from. Saturday night the bar will give
Irish hats to lucky people.
Grandmother's, 201 Sunvalley Blvd.,
will ofTer corned beef and cabbage for
$3.75, buy one sandwich get another
one of equal or lesser price for $1, and
green beer on request on Sunday.

The Lincoln Exchange, 132 S. 13th
St., will offer poached salmon for $11,
donny brooke trout for $10.95, north
atlantic fruits de mer for $8.75, mulli
gan stew for $7.50, cork country chicken
for $8.50 and corned beef and cabbage
for $6.25 Friday and Saturday nights.
A Dixieland Band, "The Bed Stompers,"
will play Saturday night from 6 to 10
p.m.
Phil's Cafe, 2S30 Orchard St., will
serve corned beef and cabbage for
$3.25.
Sidetrack, Seventh and P streets,
will serve green beer starting Friday at
5 p.m. and will have a party and Irish
drinks Sunday from 6 to 1 1 p.m.
