Foundation's
chief regains
vigor, strength

Varner.
While attending Texas A&M
University he was dubbed
Woody the. nickname has
stack with hixn ever since.
Varner b chairman of the
NU Foundation, which "tries
to find ecarccs of funding from
the private sector to help trw
university achieve their goals,'

he says.

Varner sap the work of the
foundation is people-oriented.
"We try to take the donors'
instincts and encourage them,"
Varner says.
Sometimes, he says, people
donate money to parts of the
university that dont need as

"Whatever pieces the donor"
