Health Center
seeks director
The director of the University
Health Center has resigned and
will be replaced by an acting
administrator effective Jan. 1,
1085.
Stephen Blom, who has been
associated with the health center
since February 1979, will become
the executive director of the
American College Health Associ
ation, based in the Washington
area.
Gerald Fleischli, medical direc
tor of the health center, will
assume the duties of acting ad
ministrator at the beginning of
the year. He also will keep his
current position.
According to Richard
Armstrong, vice chancellor of
student affairs, Blom's contribu
tions to the university were many.
He helped the health center
project itself across the campus,
Armstrong said, and spread its
influence and service.
Blom was instrumental in
establishing Wellness Week at UNL
and reorganizing the business
aspects of the health center,
Armstrong said.
The new position is a "record of
his professional expertise that he
gave his office," Armstrong said.
"It is a career advancement."
