Film Talks to. lead 'El Nort

Film Theatre. It will be held in the
theater immediately after the 3
p.m. screening of "El Norte" on
Sunday.

Poet Scheele to give free reading
Rov Scheele will read his
try at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the
Heritage Room of the Bennett
Martin Public Library, 14th and N
streets. The reading is the 1 1th in
a series of free, open to the public
poetry and fiction readings spon
sored by the Nebraska Literary
Heritage Association.
Roy Scheele's poems have ap-
peared in numerous magazines,
including "Commonwealth." The
Holiins Critic," "Poetry" and
"Prairie Schooner." His published
collections are "Accompanied,"
"Noticing," and "The Sea-Ocean."
Scheele has also put together a
chapbook, "A Far Allegiance," and
a book-length manuscript, "Point
ing Out the Sky."

"Upriver" won the John Neihardt
nationwide poetry competition.
Since 1976 he has worked in
the Poet-In-The'-Schooh program
for the Nebraska Arts Council.
Scheele currently teaches English

tional Studies at Doane College.
