Pond will visit the depart
ment of art, meeting with
faculty and students on Wed
nesday. He also will show slides
and talk about his recent work
at 5:30 p.m. at the Sheldon
Gallery Auditorium. Known
primarily for his brightly
colored screenprints, Pond
does close-up details of his
environment that become al
most abstracted rhythms of
form, line and color. A recep
tion and opportunity to view
his work will follow in the Print
Study Room. The event is free.
The Nebraska Arts Council,
a state agency, has supported
this art event through its match
ing grants program funded by
the Nebraska Legislature and
the National Endowment for
the Arts, a federal agency.
