on whether to accept the com

"This Is a question of parlimen

a UNL staff member and member
of the society.
UNL English Professor Robert

the laws governing public meet

constitution.
When Harl Dalstrom, a member
of the nominating committee,
learned of the election procedure,
he said he was baffled and con
fused about what parliamentary
procedure would have prevailed.
He said the voting procedure
chosen was peculiar and he did
not understand how it came
about.
Faulkner, who steered the vot

conducted properly and in ac

members, as is evidenced by the
presence of majority votes."
The voting procedure was out
lined well in advance and no
objections were made, Kivettsaid.
Kivett said he agrees there is a
need for a new voting procedure.
He said all society members, not
just those present at the meeting,
should be allowed to vote.
Membership on the board
should be representative of all
three Nebraska congessional dis
tricts, according to population,
Kivett said. He said the society's
constitution does not say this,
but currently operates this way.
