Willcox said he could not get
enough members to live in the
house because "it was a dump."
"It's not fit for humans to live
there " he said.
Willcox said the fraternity chap
ter's reorganization began in Sep
tember, 1033, when 55 new active
members were signed up. By
December, that number had
dropped to 34, and by the end of
school in May only 24 members
were left, Willcox said.
The reorganized fraternity chap
ter "stalled to gel" in January,
Willcox said, but the house's dis
mal condition drove active and
potential members away.
"Its tough to compete against
26 completely active fraternit
ies," the former president said.
The remaining members decided
in July to quit unless the loan as
promised came through, Willcox
said.
