Ted Pfeifer, director of regis tration and records, said the com puter's software package that man ages the regulating system tailed to operate." About 400 students were af fected, Pfeifer said. The computer failed about 1 p.m., Pfeifer said, and again at 3 p.m. The first time was minor, he said, but the second time opera tion could not be restored. Pfeifer said students who were inside the Nebraska Union ball Iroom (dropadd room) when the breakdown occurred, were issued time appointment cards and would maintain their same positions when dropadd opened Thursday at 8 a.m. Thursday's dropad was hec tic, Pfeifer said, "with two days of business at once," he said.
