being remodeled. When the
complex is finished, the place
will be one large bar. Even with
out the additional space, Judaea
has a large dance floor and a lot
of individual serving bars. They
feature top 40 rock 'n' roll and
the band3 are mainly from the
midwest area. There is music at
Judges all week with a $1 cover
weekdays and $2 cover on week
ends. McGuffey'a 1012 P St
The Lincoln Jazz Society plays
every Thursday night at McGuf
fes. There is no cover charge.
McGuffeys has both food and
drink and attracts a middle age
and college crowd.
The Mountains
311 South lift St
The Mountains offers live rock
n' roll music on Friday and Sat
urday nights. The dance floor is
small and the atmosphere is
unpretentious.
Pla-mor Ballroom
1920 West O St
The big band sound can be
found at Pla-mor, which features
ballroom music Wednesday and
Saturday nights. Wednesday is
a singles dance from 8:30 p.m. to
midnight and Saturday is a
couples dance from 8:30 p.m. to
12:30 a.m. Cover is $2.50. Sun
day, the Pla-mor has polka music
from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a $2
cover charge.
Riveras, 1320 West O St
Country and country rock
music can be found at the Rive
ras, which has local acts playing
Friday and Saturday nights. The
music attracts a diverse crowd,
aywhere from 20 to 90 year olds.
There is no cover.
Royal Grove
340 West Corahisslcer Highway
Music can be found all week
at the Grove for only $1 cover
charge, unless there is a special
show. Mostly the music is rock
and roll, but the Grove has fea
tured national acts like the
Fabulous Thunderbirds, the Sub
urbs, and The Romantics. The
Grove has lots of room and a
large dance floor. The clientele
Includes perm end blow dry.

bar with a college and young
professional crowd. Thursday
night, the Sweet Potatoes band
plays and Friday and Saturday
Joyce Durand (piano) and John
Bryan (bass) play ditties and
Jingles which the whole crowd
sings along with. Another fea
ture at the Sidetrack b a trivia
contest on Tuesday night.

The Bistro is a restaurant dur
ing the week, but features local
musicians on the weekends. The
music b mainly folk and con
temporary. There is a cafe-bar
(bistro) atmosphere which b
oriented toward a professional
and faculty crowd. Eventually,
the Bistro hopes to have music
on Monday nights, fcr which
there would be a cover. Cur
rently, there is no cover at the
Bistro.
Sweep Left, 815 O St
Sweep Left supports a large
college crowd and has music
toward the end of the week. The
music b rock 4n' roll and there b
a $1 cover charge on Friday and
Saturday.
Tucker Inn

As Lincoln's largest country
western club, Tucker Inn, of
course, features country music
Monday thru Saturday. There b
a $2 cover and your first drink b
free. Freeride is the house band.
They play most nights, but peri
odically, the club will feature a
Nashville act.
Zao Bar, 1S3 N. 14th St
The Zoo b Lincoln's home for
blues music, featuring big name
blues musicians, local blues tal
ent, as well as other types of
music. The bar and dance floor
are small, but friendly and packs
in more fun per square inch
than most places. The Zoo has
featured such notes blues acts
as Luther Allison, Robert Cray,
Johnny Reno and the Sax Mani
acs and Magic Slim and. the
Teardrops. Cover charge ranges
anywhere from $2 or more,
depending on the band. Another
feature at the Zoo is their Friday
afternoon club, with local blues
music from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for
only $1 cover charge.

that spit Hew out of his mouth.
"Never mind, I thought you had
the class to allow a woman the
freedom to weep and not touch
her person."
McDugan wiped the spit
off his chin, and reconsidered.
"Okay, 111 help."
They smiled at each other,
and McDugan almost decided
to try and kiss her again. There
was always next week.
