Museum tours and old fashioned
fiddlin' and guitar pluckin wUl be fea
tured during Lincoln's Neighborhood
Week set for June 9 to 16.
More than 1 3 neighborhoods, in con
junction with Lincoln Neighborhoods
Inc. and the city's Community Resource
Office, are inviting citizens to browse
through the state Historical Society
Museum and watch a 30-minute his
torical slide show June 9 at 12:30 p.m.
Throughout the week, other activi
ties will include a city wide picnic June
1 6 at Antelope Park. The picnic, which
begins at 5 p.m. features fiddlers and
guitarists. People are invited to bring
their family and a picnic basket full of
goodies.
The UNL Law College will be the host
of a summer institute to help students
who are interested in law careers but
who may need some help before enter
ing law school because of economic or
academic reasons. The institute, June
11 through July 20 on the UNL cam
pus, will be used as a screening device
for students who show potential for
law school, even though they may not
havhifgradepointaveragcsortebtscores.
Alan Frank, associate dean of the Col
lege of Law along with Steve Willborn,
UNL associate professor of law, will act
as co-chairmen of the institute.
The program will function like a
small law school, in which writing
skills will be emphasized.
