Bigotry flaws system
I sree with Bill Allen's apparent
opinion t h-t the Greek system h flawed
by its bigotry (Daily Nebraskan, April
23). Mike Barrett's ' response (Daily
Ncbraskan, April 24) supports the fact
that many Greeks view themselves as
members of "an elite group."
The Nazis felt that way too.

Celebrate Greeks
Bill Men's column "Greek Week: Don't
include me" (Daily Ncbraskan, April
23) is an abortion of truth. Although I
felt the article was somewhat hum
orous, it was written out of total ig
norance. Greek Week '81, as is every Greek
Week, is a celebration of something
members of the Greek system are proud
of. Maybe Bill Allen has nothing to be
proud of. There is no other organization
on this campus who has ever united to
do more for UNL. Last year Greeks
raised more than $9,000 for the Morrill
Hall climate jcontrol system, in a week-
long marathon. This year they hope to
ra:.;e even more participating in a
dance marathon. The other events of
Greek Week '84 are a chance for UNL
Greeks to unite and say we are proud
.to be an assset of UNL's campus.

Old tests aid study
This is in regard to the second column
in as many days written by Bill Allen
against the Greek system (Daily Ncb
raskan, April 23). It is not fair to judge
something, such as an exam file, only
on the basis of how it may be abused.
Exam files in the Greek houses are
intended only to be a complement to
regular study habits. Many instructors
on this campus encourage using old
tests to aid in studying for their classes;
some even provide them. It isn't
actually cheating to study old exams
since most instructors have enough
initiative to use different questions on
their tests.
