But was the season a disappointment? Senior for ward Stan Cloudy said he didn't think so. The Cen ter, Texas, native played his last game as a Corn husker. "Personally, I feel pretty good about the season," Cloudy said. "The season didn't go as we expected it to, but we finished 18-12 and got into the NIT which is more than a lot of teams can say." Cloudy said he couldn't pinpoint the time when he realized the team wouldn't fulfill its promise. He said the Missouri game in Lincoln, which Nebraska lost 50-48, was a big disappointment. "We weren't really together as a team," Cloudy said. "We let them come in and beat us at home." The game was also Eric Williams' and David Pon ce's last for Nebraska. The three seniors combined for 24 points. Had Nebraska defeated Xavier they would have, in all likelihood been given a third round NIT game at home. Cloudy said Nebraska deserved a second round home game. "It made me sick when I heard we had to go on the road," Cloudy said. "We've been playing good on the road all year. They beat us by one point at home, big deal. We could have won the ball game. They lucked out of this one." For the Musketeers it is the continuation of what has turned out to be a successful season. Xavier, now 22-9, started the season poorly but came on late in the year to secure an NIT bid. In the Musket eers' last regular season game they defeated Dayton who has since defeated Oklahoma. Nebraska coach Moe Iba was impressed with the Musketeers. "They've got a nice basketball team," Iba said. "We thought coming in we could win, but they played really well down the stretch." Xavier will probably be on the road for its third round game, possibly against Notre Dame, i J amj mum you wmit m say ANNOUNCE YOUR ORGANIZATION'S ACTIVITIES rFIND A SUITABLE ROOMMATE WISH SOMEONE HAPPY BIRTHDAY Happy Birthday Jan r CI Congratulations on the opening of your Downtown Diet Center With bve from your Diet Center Counselors Helping Others Loss Weight & Live Happier, Healthier Lives Is Our Goal What is yours?
