Future ag journalists form club Agriculture-journalism students will have the opportunity to develop their career skills in a new club at UNL Agriculture Communi cators of Tomorrow will meet for the first time March 22 at 7 p.m. in the East Campus Union. Mark Ford, club coor dinator, said ACT will give members a chance to interact, review agricult ural issues and look at . the role journalism plays in those issues. Ford is a senior ag-journalism major. Ford said that current ag journalism students have classes in the jour nalism school, but have no courses directed to wards ag-journalism. Advisers for the club programs will include pro fessional speakers provid ing information on courses and possible ag-journal-' ism career opportunities. "The club can be a very positive thing," Fleming said. "We are very sup portive of their efforts." The Nebraska State Student Association gained two major student referenda victories last month, as Chadron State College and Wayne State College students agreed to retain membership in the NSSA for 1034-85. Seventy-five percent of the Chadron State stu dents and 93 percent of the Wayne State students voted to continue giving a percentage of student fees to the 3-year-old organization. "We are always pleased with referenda victories," Deb Chapclle, NSSA executive director, said. "But when the margins of victories are as wide as we have seen this year, it becomes clear that our members are pleased with the job we are doing." UNO and Peru State passed favorable referendas earlier this year. The membership renewal referen dum will be on the March 14 ASUN ballot for UNL students.
