Recruitment now is taking place for health rides, students who live on campus and link students and the health center, said program super visor Janet Crawford. "Health aides provide first-aid to people in the living unit," Crawford said. They treat some kind of sealed down illnesses and have a health kit. They also provide health information." While serving a3 health aides, stu dents take a Public Health class for college credit, said program super visor Margaret Pavclka Besides the class, health aides are expected to be certified in both cardio pulmonary resuscitation and in first aid, Pavelka said. The Health Center helps enroll the student in certifi cation classes. They submit weekly reports to the supervisor. Health aides receive t-3 a week. The public health course books are loaned to the students by the Health Center.
