John Valdrighi, social service chairman for Alpha Tau Omega, said some of the- goals for the week include increasing awareness about alcohol abuse and expanding the project to the general public, rather than only fraternity and sorority members. Clayton Rivers, UNL associate professor and direct or cf the alcohol training program, will speak about "Alcohol, Machismo, Sex and the Single Person" at 6:15 p.m. Monday at the Regency Room of the Nebraska Union. In order to expand the Week on the Wagon pro ject to the public, Delta Delta Delta sorority mem bers and Alpha Tau Omega fraternity members will be distributing pledge cards, which everyone is wel come to sign. 1 Students who go in for treatment at the Univer sity Health Center without their student identifica tion cards must cither bring the card in later the same day or pay a $ 15 fee, according to a new policy which goes into effect Monday. "Basically we're 'coins to Implement procedures that are more stringent with regard to the approp riate Individuals using the Health Center" Steve Blom, Health Center director said. The purpose is tqmake sure only eligible students are using the facilities, Blom said. It is a preventive measure against abuse of the system, he said. Blom said one example of abuse is when former students receive health care. Since part of student fees support the health center, he said, abtise would hurt current students. Presenting a valid student ID card helps in two ways, Blom said. First, it assures that student fees are used properly at the health center. Secondly, the staff can write medical record numbers on the cards, creating a quick reference the next time stu dents use the health center. Blom said it is important for students to use their own ID cards for record purposes. Each visit i3 recorded in a permanent file. The correct informa tion must be written down in each person's file, he said.
