Unfortunately, Ronstadt's picture on the album
cover is a bit out of place. It portrays Rortstadt with
a twisted, tormented, rather sado-masochistic ex
pression on her face which goes well with the new
wave look popular today but not with the orches
trated music and album. Too bad. The cover caters
to the glittering gimmick and hype of the record
industry but is untrue to the lovely music on the
album.
One note of caution: Ronstadt's voice is extremely
powerful as she belts out these emotional lyrics, to a
point that it becomes overbearing. Playing this
album at high volume levels may cause Ronstadt's
vocals to irritate and overwhelm.
Also, listeners should beware of friends and
roommates who become addicted to the simple,
gliding melodies and proceed to burden others with .
personal renditions.

Television
Jane Fonda will narrate a retrospective look at
the career of producer-director Stanley Kramer.
Kramer is responsible for such films as Death of A
Salesman, Home of the Brave, It's a Mad, Mad
World, Inherit the Wind, Judgment at Nuremberg
and On the Beach (which was the first film to deal
with the subject of nuclear annihilation). The pro
gram will air tonight at 7 p.m. on Channel 12.
G eorge Segal and Susan Saint James star in the
1033 :omcdy, Carbon Copy, which airs at 8 p.m. on
Channels G and 10. Segal plays a successful busi
nessman who discovers that he has a black son.
Overall, it's a silly film, but it is interesting to see how
little Hollywood has progressed in the 15 years since
