The potent offense also is assured of at least tying
the record for rushing touchdowns per games.
Nebraska s 5.6 average is ahead of Oklahoma's
record of 5.1 established in 1956. The Huskers need
just one rushing touchdown against the Sooners to
record a new mark.
Benefiting from the Nebraska scoring barrage, the
Husker kickers have clinched a record of their own.
Husker kicking specialists Dave Schneider, Scott
Livingston, Mark Hagerman and Dan Wingard have
combined to hit 73 of 81 extra-point attempts this
season. Averaging 6.6 extra points per game, the
Huskers easily have exceeded San Diego State's
1069 record average of 5.9.
