"I'm not going to say I don't want the Ikisraan Trophy Rozier said, "But if I dont win it, you just come around, 111 probably still bo partying. . One thing Rozier can control Is how many yards he runs for, end Saturday he wanted Berns' record. I talked to coach (Frank) Solich about the record," Rozier said. Tm happy I got it" Rozier said there were some nervous times for him before he was able to get the record. He had 248 yards in the third quarter when Gill called Roger's number on an isolation play. However, Gill audibled out of the running play to a pass. The pass was intercepted and with the Huskers leading 47-0, it looked like Rozier might never get a chance at the record he wanted. "When Mike had 211 yards we started talking about It ( the record), wLback Irving Fryar said. We told him, 'Man, ycuYc had enouh.'He got kind of mad but we were Just teasing him." Rozier then decided to lobby for a chance to break the record. . "I asked Coach Osborne and I asked the offensive, line for the record," Rozier said. "I told them I needed about eiht more yards to do it" An isolation play on the second possession of the second half broke Bern3' record. The single-game rushing mark was just one of many records set or approached by Rozier during the game. Rozier's 1,943 rushing yards this season breaks the Eig Eight record of 1 ,877 set by Ernest Anderson of Oklahoma State last year. Rozier also had 4,575 career rushing yards, just seven yards short of the record set by Oklahoma State's Terry Miller in the mid-703. By Jixa Easmusscn Nebraska basketball fans will have their first opportunity to watch the 1033-84 Cornhuskers Wednesday night when Coach Moe Iba's team takes on the Brandon University Bobcats in a 7:35 p.m. exhibition game at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Canada's Brandon University, in Brandon, Manit oba, is in a city of 40,000 people about 1 20 miles from the provincial capital of Winnipeg. About 2,200 stu dents attend the university, Dwight Kearns, Bran don's basketball coach, said. The Bobcats will bring a 5-2 record to Lincoln after playing in a three-day tournament in Ontario over the weekend. The team returned to Brandon on Sunday night, and was scheduled to leave for Lincoln Tuesday morning by van. Lincoln is about 750 miles from Brandon, Kearns said. Th Bobcats will continue their traveling after the Nebraska game, playing at Kansas Thursday night and Iowa State on Saturday. "Sometimes, I feel like I'm coaching a travel club instead of a basketball team," Kearns said. Brandon finished last season with a 34-8 record and was ranked third in the nation in Canada's largest classification, Kearns said. Several players with all-conference credentials are back from that team and will start against Nebraska, Kearns said. John Carson, a 6-4 sophomore forward from Hun tersville, N.C., was a first team selection on last year's all-Canadian team, Kearns said, as well as earning all-Great Plains Athletic Conference honors. Will Marshall, a 6-8 senior center from Texas, is a former all-conference selection who is making a comeback after sitting out last season with a back injury, Kearns said. Two j uniors, Grant Coulter and Earl Roberts, will open at the guards. Coulter, 6-1, who is from Bran don, and the Roberts, 6-0, a Toronto native, were both all-conference picks a year ago. Kearns said the Bobcats like to play an "up tempo" game. "We like to run and play a fast style of ball," Kearns said, "but I dont know if well be able to do that against Nebraska." Kearns said the games against the three Big Eight schools were scheduled as a recruiting tool for Brandon. . "They (the Big Eight schools) gave us a pretty good guarantee," he said. "We're not going to be spending any money on the trip. In fact, we're going to make some money." ' Brandon was able to get a good scouting report on the Huskers, Kearns said. Jerry Hemmings, who is on leave of absence as Brandon's head coach, is currently serving as a volunteer coaching assistant at Tulane, one of Nebraska's opponents in last year's National Invitational Tournament. , "Jerry gave us a lot of information on Nebraska, but we havent had much time to prepare for them," Kearns said. "I know they've got a good team. They're big and strong, and well just go down and do the best we can. We're really looking forward to the experience of playing a team like Nebraska."
