"I thought we played well," Nebraska coach Terry Pettlt said. "I thought we did a good Job of keeping our intensity up. We played much better today than we did against Iowa State (Wednesday night)." Kansas got as close as 4-2 in the first set before Noth recorded a kill for a point, which she followed with an ace serve. The Huskers proceeded to close out the set with 1 1 straight points, interrupted only by three Jayhawk side-outs. The third set was never In doubt, as Dahlgren had two blocks in the early part of it, and a kill off a short set for the third point. For Kansas coach Bob Lockwood, the best thing that came out of the match was that his team was still physically healthy. "As powerful as Nebraska is, they didn't hurt us," he said. ""Nobody was injured." - Lockwood said Nebraska may have put together the best team ever assembled at one time in the conference, while his team was still young. "Nebraska was so much taller than U3 at the net that we couldnt hope to block very many," he said. "We just had to scramble for the ball in the back court. What I wa3 looking for in this match was if we gave up and just let them take it. We didn't do that, they (Kansas) hung in as best they could, and I was glad to see that" Leslie Loyd and Julie Ester lead Kansas with six kills each. Noth had three service aces for Nebraska, which also recorded 17 blocks as a team, compared to three for Kansas.
