f.'.cnd-y, October 31, 1C:3 Kiiii voces unanimously for damage policy change niAirs you FonciniPis b Ml V The UNL Residence Hail Association unanimously approved a revision of the Common Area Damage Policy dur ing its meeting Thursday. Revision of the policy was prompted by vandalism that occurred last spring in the 'Abel-Sandoz and Harper resi dence halls. In the Abel-Sandoz esse, the EIIA council voted that the complex would be held responsible for a damped ele vator guide calle and that the costs f:r ' repairs, would be', divided equally amen the hell residents, because the party rcrpcrle could net be identi fied. In the previous policy, the board not only heard and decided initial cases, but also heard appeals made by the residents. EIIA Vice President Dave Edmunds and a special committee of EIIA members worked with Pat Glasier of the housing office under the supervi sion cf a UNL attorney, to correct these discrepancies and to establish a better appeals process. The revised policy calls for. the formation of two boards. One beard, eirailar to the exist ing board, will ccr.slt cf live residents from the hall or complex where the vandalism occurs. The members will be proportionately distributed accord ing to the number of pales and fe males in the hall or complex. A desig nated member of the hail or complex also will serve on the board.
