Campbell noted that Nicaragua now has a real and effective agrarian reform plan, which guaran tees access to land to all who want it and a fair price for all crops produced. "We also found a country in which medical atten tion was virtually non-existent, especially in the rural areas," Campbell said. Health efforts, directed, mainly by younj Niearasuans, has reduced the infant mortality rate and eliminated malaria and polio in the country. In addition to substantial progress in education, equality cf landholding and health, Campbell said Nicaragua has made democratic reforms.
