Try to Imagine spending a lifetime,
or part of one, in a blurred or darkened
world.
Think of the everyday activities that
would be nearly Impossible.
It would be difficult to cope with
classroom situations where televisions
chalkboards and video tapes are in
volved. The National Society to Prevent Blind
ness wants people to know that many
of the leading causes of blindness have
no noticeable symptoms, that there
are causes of blindness other than
birth defects, and that many causes
can be treated successfully.
As the kickoff celebration of the
75th anniversary of NSPB, Gov. Bob
Kerrey proclaimed September as Sight
Saving Month in Nebraska. A number

On Sept 17, the society will partici
pate In the Bergan-Mercy Health Fair.
Each Wednesday there will be a Prevent
Blindness Fair during the noon hour at
the Lincoln Foundation Gardens, 14th
and N streets. Free information and
materials on eye safety and health are
available at these events.
