swimming teams, works personally with the timers.
Head baseball coach John Sanders said the bat
girb have been helpful in the promotions area in the
past.
Sanders said it has not yet been decided what,
exact role the bat girls will have this baseball season.
He said that decision will be made in late September.
"We may re-define their role" altogether this year "
said Sanders. Or drop them altogether. Before the
1981 season, the bat girls retrieved bats and helmets
and sat outside the dugout Since then, they have
been restricted to the stands.
Many possibilities exist for the bat girl role, and
Sanders said those are being looked into carefully.
