Local shops save time, cash
for cheap college students

I'm a cheap college student who
hunts for the best deals that can be
found. I'm also a busy person so I like
convenience.
Knowing where some local shops
are and what services they offer can
save us all our two most important
resources time and money.
To save my resources, I visit the
barber as little as possible except
before vacations when I have to see the
family.
The Shingle in the basement of the
Nebraska Union is convenient for
many students, but some specialty
hair care shops are around, as well as
some new ones.
Jai Jai Hair Styling Shop, 300 N. 27
St., specializes in hair styles for blacks.
The East Campus Barber Shop, 3294
Holdrege St., just opened this summer
and can serve students between
classes or while they are waiting for
the bus.
If you're a brave soul like me, and
you like the feel of a straight razor
that's been finely honed on a leather
strap, John's Barber Shop, 2709 Vine
St., is the place to go.
