Sooners choice of polls
The Daily Nebraskan football staff
has done a random sampling of
national magazines' prediction
columns to determine a consensus
Number One.
The Top 20's from 10 magazines
and three Daily Nebraskan writers,
Jeff Browne, Scott Ahlstrand and
columnist Jeff Goodwin were used.
A team was awarded 20 points for a
top ranking, 19 for a second, and so
on.
Although Oklahoma won the poll
by a slim margin over Nebraska,
North Carolina, which many ex
perts felt could ride an easy schedule
to a top ranking, drew just as much
first-place support as the Sooners.
