Paramount gets the feel of the coiy
By Kris Mullen
Sometime in the next few weeks, crowds will gather
to watch a woman chase a man across the UNL campus.
The woman will be actress Debra Winger, and she'll be in
hot pursuit of Iter husband, who is having an extramarital
affair.
This is just one of the scenes of "Terms of tndear
m?nt." a mowe that will be filmed in Lincoln, Brian
Brosnan said.
Ma or Helen Boosalis introduced Brosnan, the loca
tion manager for Paramount Pictures, at a press confer
ence Thursday.
Borsnan said his job is to see that people are pleased
with Paramount's job.
Paramount is trying to keep inconveniences like
temporary parking bans, to a minimum. Brosnan said.
"People in Lincoln have made this very pleasurable,"
he said. "Hie people have been very receptive."
He also said he lias eaten in some "terrific" restaurants
here.
Paramount estimates the production will bring about S
S2 million into Lincoln and almost S3.5 million after the
multiplier effect, Boosalis said.
Laughing, Brosnan pointed out that the 5250 jacket he
was wearing he bought here.
Paramount will bring about 150 people to Lincoln, he
said.
About 300 local people will get full- or part-time
employment as a direct result of production, Boosalis
said.
The first location, a house at 847 S. 14th St., is set for
shooting to begin April 20, Brosnan said.
In addition to I'NL, other filming locations are Lincoln
General Hospital, K's Restaurant, Leon's Food Mart, the
Holiday Inn on Cornhusker Highway, the airport and
tentatively the Old Federal Building.
Not much of the filming will be done outside, he said.
The interior scenes could have been shot in Hollywood,
but Paramount wanted to go to the actual city "to get the
feel of the city," he said.
Brosnan is scouting for a brick house with a laundry
room on the first level so the cameras will not have to be
moved to the basement, he said.
Paramount also is looking for a 4-month-old brown
haired baby "who looks like a boy" and a 6 to 9-month-old
blonde girl.
Co-stars Shirley MacLaine and Jack Nicholson are
scheduled to arrive in Lincoln May 1 .

The man once called the "brightest student ever to
graduate from the UNL College of Engineering and Tech
nology has given a $205,000 gift to UNL's graduate
fellowship programs in agriculture and engineering.
Milton R. Mohr of Malibu, Calif., graduated from Ne
braska in 1938 with the highest scholastic record ever
achieved in UNL's College of Engineering and Tech
nology. He received an Honorary Doctor of Engineering
degree from UNL in 1959. Mohr is an electrical engineer
who is now president and chief executive officer of
Quotron Systems, Inc.
His gift will be endowed - the money invested and
only the interest income used - and the deans of the two

according to D.B. Varner, chairman of the NU Foundation.
