(Gioesf speakers indent Ihioinioirs planned for ScDomalsnn) Week An executive of USA Today, the nation's only national newspaper, and several other distinguished journalists will visit the UNL School of Journalism during Journalism Week, Wednesday through Friday. Peter S. Prichard, deputy editorial director of USA Today , will speak about the national publication Wednesday at 8 pjn. in the Nebraska Union Centennial Room. Prichard is second in command of USA Today's opinion and inquiry pages. He also has been assistant to Allen Neuharth, chairman of the board and president of Gannett Co., Inc. The idea for J-Week came from the school's Student Advisory Council, Neale Copple, dean of the School of Journalism, said. "The students, headed by Carla Cover, and advised by Associate Dean Wilma Crumley, both planned the program and helped pick the speakers," Copple said. "They insisted that one full day be devoted to honoring students." Friday will be devoted to students and families, Copple said. Tours of the school will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 9 30 a jn. New members of the national journalism honorary, Kappa Tau Alpha, will be announced at a noon luncheon. The school's honor convocation will be in the Centennial Room at 2:30 pjn. The J-Week program also will include visits to the school by distinguished journalists including: Gary Grahnquist, vice president and advertising director for Neiman-Marcus; Frank Scott, director of programs for the Voice of America; George Miller, a Nebraska publisher; and Michael Stricklin, former UNL journalism professor and now assistant managing editor of the Fort Worth Star -Telegram.
