The Faculty Senate Monday passed a resolution for a
new Dead Week policy, ASUN Sen. Kris Mullen said at
Wednesday's ASUN meeting.
The policy states that no finals can be given during
Dead Week, and that a final scheduled for Friday of finals
week can be moved to a different day during Finals Week,
Mullen said.
No legislative action was taken at the ASUN Senate
meeting because the senate did not have quorum.
Hal Koenig and Lori Smith, UNL graduate students,
asked the senators to complete a questionnaire on
political influence and power for UNL professor Tom
Mayes. The results will be given at a later meeting, Koenig
said.

ASUN Sen. Clayton Reeves encouraged all senators to
sell raffle tickets for the Student Watch Group, which
works to prevent assaults and rapes on campus. If the SI
raffle tickets are not sold, the Watch Group probably
would fold, Reeves said. The money from the tickets
would be used to help install a Cablevision television
service because the use of the equipment has been
donated, he said.
ASUN President Dan Wedekind said the election run
off speaks positively of what the senate has been doing
because both parties were formed from colleagues on the
senate. He said it was also a good reflection on the senate
because despite more newspaper coverage, Anarky, the
joke party, actually received fewer votes than joke parties
of past years.
