Both organizations requested the S3ine fees currently allocated to them. The NSSA requested 50 cents per student each semester and the Daily Nebraskan requeued 90 cents per student each semester. Printing costs for the Daily Nebraskan are expected to increase, but the same fee was requested because of a projected increase in advertising revenues. Frank Podany, a member of CFA's Daily Nebraskan subcommittee, said, "We (the subcommittee) believe increased advertising revenues are reasonably assumed and we find it admirable and appreciate the Daily Nebraskan's concern for keeping costs to a minimum. 1 mml Your Bi 1 1 r' K c, 1 for CHECKING CHARGES They're Charging YOU for your Business! ncDrn:!in GnuinQD & Loan Association FA LINCOLN 1409 "O" Street 402-475-1409 And we'll even buy back your unused checks left over from your old account. : Tint Picst Miri LOOK AT THESE EIGHT SPECIALIZED CHECKING ACCOUNTS; THEN CHOOSE THE BEST FOR YOU... 30E3Q Has To Offer! totally FREE CHECKING The perfect account for hassle-free checking. "J 'can't sec how you can argue with it, especially witii printing costs increasing." CPA voted 1 1-0-0 to pass both the Daily Nebraskan's and NSSA's requests in the first round vote. Susan Longacre, a NSSA subcommittee member, recommended NSSA's budget request and said the fee has been the same for NSSA as Jong as it has been in existence. She added that the same fee is allocated at the other NSSA member campuses. After the two budgets were approved, ASUN presented its 1983-84 budget. ASUN President Dan Wedekind said that through the budget he hopes to "give future student governments the same opportunity this government and past governments have had." Wedekind said this as an explanation for increasing the director of developments job to a full-time position. The position is now part-time during the summer and full time during the regular school year. The ASUN director of development trains new employees, handles orientation for the ASUN Senate and the Government liaison Committee and organizes elections as just a few of the required duties. ASUN's budget request included an increase of more than 14 percent over last year's budget. The request is for nearly $61,000, compared to the current budget of $5312. Subcommittee recommendations for ASUN's budget will be given to CFA Tuesday night, with first round voting on the budget following. The recreation depart ment will then make its 1983-84 budget request.
