Prairie Pine Christmas trees
nurture 13 years of tradition
The tradition of selecting and cutting
your own Christmas tree still is alive.
Walt and Virginia Bagley have been nur
turing the tradition for nearly 18 years.
The Bagleys operate the Prairie Pines
tree farm at the corner north 112th and
Adams streets.
"It's more than a Christmas tree farm,"
Virginia said. "We operate as a regular tree
farm and a wildlife refuge during the rest
of the year."
The number of trees available for
Christmas trimming has been limited
this season.
"We really didn't have as many trees
for sale this year as we would like to have
had," Walt said.
With a good year ahead, the Bagleys
hope to correct that situation for the next
Christmas season.
Many households in the Lincoln area
will be trimmed with Prairie Pines trees
this year.
"Many notable Lincoln people includ
ing Attorney General Paul Douglas have
bought their trees here this year," Vir
ginia said.
One of the trees from Prairie Pines
also is being used in the UNL theater
production of "Christmas Carol."
