Tuesday, October 26, 1982 Daily Nebraskan Page 3 Brisch is candidate for executive post James Raglin, NU director of public affairs, has confirmed that Hans Brisch, associate NU executive vice president and provost, is a candidate for the presidency of Western Washington Univers ity, in Bellingham, Wash. Raglin said he did not know how many other candidates were being considered for the position or when the decision will be announced. Brisch, who also is ah associate professor of management at UNL, said he has a "look-arid-see attitude." ; "I have received some materials. My family and I like it around here and we're not going to jump at anything," he said. Brisch was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 1940, according to biographical information provided by the Office of University Information. He immigrated to the United States in 1957 and became a U.S. citizen in 1964. He received his bachelor's degree in political science from Park College in Kansas City, Mo., in 1964, a master's degree in 1967 and his doctorate in 1970 from the University of Kansas. The UNL depart ment of human development and the family recently has received a grant from the federal government to help :in developing a new profession in this area, a UNL professor said. Lois Schwab, a professor in the rehabilitation services section in the department of human development and the family, said UNL received the grant from the Rehabili tation Services Administration in the U.S. Education Department. The grant's purpose is to help train students at the master's level so that more individuals will be available to work with people who are chronically mentally ill. to have them in the community than an institution."
