A Police Report
The following calls
were received by UNL police from 7 a.m.
Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday.
11:21 a.m. - Person reported vending
on state property.
4:17 p.m. - Person reported vending
on state property near Memorial Stadium.
7:33 p.m. - False fire alarm sounded
at Schramm Hall.
9:21 p.m. - Theft reported from a
car.
9:47 p.m. - False fire alarm sounded
at Plant Science Hall.
11:15 p.m. - False fire alarm sounded
at Schramm Hall.
1:22 a.m. - Accident reported west
of 425 University Terrace.
1:24 a.m. - Parties were found tres
passing inside Memorial Stadium.
2:28 a.m. - Disturbance reported at
Sandoz Hall when a person refused to
show identification.
2:56 a.m. - Possible burglary in pro
gress reported at Harper Hall. Officers
found nothing.
3:20 a.m. - Persons reported vanda
lizing Homecoming displays on North
16th Street.
Forensics team places
The UNL, forensics team participated in the Kansas
State University Debate and Individual Events Tourna
ment Opt. 8 through 10. The team placed second overall
in the Individual Events Sweepstakes.
UNL' students Dan Bloomingdale, a sophomore from
Omaha, and Vicki Vilhauer, a freshman from Lincoln,
advanced to the quarterfinals of the junior division to
help in the placing.
In the individual events, Deb Renter, a graduate
student from Valley, placed first in Prose, third in Rhetor
ical Criticism and fourth in Dramatic Interpretation
Michele Sindelar, a senior from Norfolk, teamed up
with Renter to take second in the Dramatic Duo section.
Steve Slagel, a senior from Lincoln, took fifth place in
the Impromptu competition.
Roger Aden, a junior from Scottsbluff, placed first
in Rhetorical Criticism, first in Informative Speaking and
third in Extemporaneous Speaking.
