A new area of display competition has
been created for this year's Oct. 10
through 16 Homecoming Week, said
Greg Ibach, Homecoming Committee
displays chairman.
Floats centering on the theme,
"Wouldn't You Like to Be A Husker,
Too," will be competing for a plaque
to be awarded during the Homecoming
parade, he said. This was made possible
because a local lumberyard agreed to
work with the Homecoming Committee
and UNL organizations to make ply
wood board available for covering pick
up beds, Ibach said.
In addition, display competition will
involve residence halls and Greek houses,
which can work individually or together
to create a display centered on the theme.
"This will provide an excellent op
portunity for many groups to gain cam
pus exposure while contributing to the
spirit and pageantry of the week," Ibach
said.
He said he hopes the unique areas
developed for this year's competition
will enable student organizations to parti
cipate more than ever before.
Interested persons may call the Cam
pus Activities and Programs office . at
472-2454, or stop by the CAP office,
Nebraska Union 200, for application
forms. Entries are due Oct. 8 at 4 p.m.

gins at the East Union.
Festivities will continue with a snnrte
- VIHU
film series, sponsored by the University
Program Council's American Films Com
mittee, at 7 and 9 p.m. in the union.
On Oct. 11, Corn Cobs is sponsoring
a sports trivia contest preliminary in
the union at 9 pjn. Contest finals are
scheduled for Oct. 14 at 6:30 pjn. in
the Coliseum.
A volleyball tournament preliminary,
sponsored by the Student Alumni Associa
tion, is schedule for Oct. 12 at 6:30 pjn.
in the Coliseum. Finals will be Oct. 14.
Oct. 12 is also the day for the Home
coming swing dance, sponsored by UPC
East and Block and Bridle, in the East
Union's Great Plains Room.
Homecoming royalty will be chosen
by UNL students Oct. 13, between 8 a.m.
and 4 p.m. in the Nebraska and East
Unions.

is the day for a talent show at 8 pjn.
in the union. The UPC Walpurgisnacht

coming parade will begin at 5:30 p.m.,
followed by a pep rally at 6 p.m.
The Tri-Delt Washboard Band, Men's

Committee divides
Fund A, B duties
Subcommittees deciding next year's allocations of
Fund A and Fund B fees will be divided between Chair
person John Leif and Vice chairperson Doug Ruzecka of
the Committee on Fees Allocation.
In their meeting Thursday night, committee members
decided that Ruzecka will direct the Fund A fees. Fund A
fees include the Association of Students of the University
of Nebraska (ASUN), The Daily Nebraskan, and the
University Program Council.
Leif will direct the subcommittees for The Fund B
fees. Fund B fees go to institutional obligations and
student services agencies such as debt service, University
Health Center, The Unions, recreation programs and
recreation facilities.
Year-end financial reports were handed out for UPC
East, UPC-City, the Daily Nebraskan, the recreation
department, the health center and the Nebraska Unions.
Financial reports for the Nebraska State Student
Association and ASUN will not be in until next -week
because auditing firms have not completed their audits,
Leif said.
Leif and Union subcommittee chairperson David
Sprunk toured the East Union to analyze the union's
operations according to Sprunk's subcommittee report.
Sprunk said the East Union is operated on the same
basis as the Nebraska Union.
Kevin Mahlock, chairperson of the Health Center
subcommittees, reported that he toured the health center.
He said he was shown how the health center was struc
tured. The health center's budget was also discussed
Mahlock said. Brett Young, subcommittee member,
toured the health center with Mahlock.
The Daily Nebraskan and the NSSA will present their
budget requests for the 1982-83 year at next week's
CFA meeting.
Leif also introduced the new CFA member, Frank
Podany at the meeting. Podany is a graduate senator for
the CFA.
All CFA members except Podany will be attending
their retreat at Camp Calvin Crest this weekend. The
retreat will include sessions on budget planning, decision
making and goal setting for the CFA members.
