The parking office will reopen Feb. 17 at 1335 N. 17lh St., the police department's new headquarters. UNL Police ask that students plan ahead in obtaining parking permits and requesting temporary and guest per mits. Parking lots will be patrolled during this time. All police department operations will continue as usual, 24 hours a day. Shorts The YWCA will sponsor "Getting Credit for Volun teering" today from noon to 1 p.m. at the YWCA New Directions Center, 1432 N St. Information will be given about how to recog nize skills obtained through volunteer work and how to indicate those skills on job applications. Her illustrations can help change an unfamiliar setting -- like a museum filled with dinosaurs and whales -- into a wondrous adventure, and her words and pictures can together transform chimpanzees and badgers into very real companions, for the youngest reader. Come and meet Lillian Haban in the General Book Department from 12:45 to 2:00 pm. She'll be autographing her books and chatting with customers. The Lincoln Transportat ion System will provide nickel bus rides Friday. In celebration of Abraham Lincoln's birthday and to welcome new riders, all LTS buses and handi-vans can be ridden for 5 cents. The UNL Wildlife Club will meet tonight at 7:30 in the East Union. Room number will be posted. UNL Recreation Student Association will meet today at 2:30 p.m. in Coliseum 7. AE Rho officer election meeting will be today at 5:30 p.m. in Avery Hall 201.
