Forensics team
second at debate
The UNL forensics team
places second overall at the
Northwest Missouri State
University "Show Me De
bates" last weekend.
Team members Kate Joec
kel, Deb Renter, Jim Fried
man, and Roger Aden quali
fied for the National Foren
sics Association's national
tournament in individual
events. The tournament will
be at Ohio State University
in April.
Joeckel said the team will
be participating in other
tournaments throughout the
Midwest and trying to quali
fy additional people for the
national competition.
Joeckel said the debate
team will compete next
weekend at the University
of Northern Iowa, and the
individual events team will
compete the first weekend
in October at Creighton Uni
versity in Omaha.
Joeckel said anyone in
terested in the team should
stop by the team's fourth
floor Oldfather Hall office.

We don't fly into the earth, but we do explore it.
Just as the crew aboard a shuttle orbiter combines
the latest technology and engineering training to
explore space, a Schlumberger engineer uses the latest
technology to evaluate subsurface formations. Special
devices are lowered into wells drilled miles into the
earth's crust. These earth probes operate under extreme
environmental conditions to provide answers to the
petroleum industry. Shuttle Orbiter? No. We use a half
million dollar computerized mobile laboratory..
