Triplett III Two questions that will appear on the March 4 ASUN election ballot met with disapproval by Union Board members at their Wednesday night meeting at the East Union. The two are those in which students are asked "Do you support $18 of your student fees being used to support the Debt Service that finances the Nebraska Union, East Union, Health Center, and Residence Halls?" The other will ask specifically if stu dents support the $13.62 fees given to the unions. Union Director Daryl Swanson said he could not see the validity of either question. 'I think it's unlike any of the other items on the ballot," Swanson said. "It won't help determine anything, since these are existing services." On the union fee support question, Swanson said the fee fund is a legal obliga tion of students. "I don't know what they're trying to prove there, either. If a majority of stu dents vote no, I guess there will be a For Sale sign on R Street." The Union Board also elected officers and initiated its new members. Molly Platter, Larry Nagaki, LaVern Haggem, Gary Hoover, and Laura Meyer are the new members, joining members Steve Althouse, Lane Handke, Scott Drvol, Steve Hardy, Larry Williams and Maynard Krantz on the student-faculty board that advises Swanson. Krantz was re-elected president, Drvol was voted vice president and Handke secre tary. Swanson informed the board that Lin coln Typewriter Company wants to have coin-operated copier service withdrawn from East Campus. Business and Finance is looking for a site to install a quick copy center like that in Burnett Hall somewhere in the East Union, Swanson said. In other business, a new name for The Crib was discussed. The fast-food service outlet just off the main lounge in the Nebraska Union will be moved to the base ment by next January, and board members said a new name would be appropriate. Some names proposed were The Uni corn, The Joint, University Grill, The Snack Shack, and Union Station. The tentative final suggestion was Union Square, although the board will have a name contest. A box for name suggestions will be placed in front of The Crib cashier, or in the North Crib. A deadline of March 6 is necessary because architects want the name in as soon as possible, Swanson said. 3 o 0 z o 0 5 Z X u 111 O 5 ui U o 00000000 o s 3 o o ) o o z o -J a o eC ui ui Z O O t- O ui z a z O X 3 2 S Q OOOOOOo. y A) ONLY 100 TO SELL Audio-Technica AT-11EZ Cartridge cartridge track- WOW!
