If closing the south desk
does not prove inconvenient
to students, the board may
consider closing it next
semester, he said.
During the trial period,
the south desk will serve as
a free distribution area for
magazines and newspapers
such as the Nebraska Voice.
In other business, the
board voted to continue
serving 10 cent coffee and
tea in the union during
finals week, and to cut
down on some labor during
finals week.
The labor reduction will
not affect student services,
kraut said.
Union Director Daryl
Swanson gave a slide pre
sentation on the renovation
of the Nortli Crib. The pre
sentation was shown at Fri
day's meeting of the NU
Board of Regents, when the
Union Board presented its
renovation proposal.
Correction
The Daily Nebraskan in
correctly reported Friday
that Ann Block, a member
of the ASUN Government
Liaison Committee, said
that GLC and ASUN
senators were urging people
to call Sen. James Exon's
office to urge him to vote
for the Senate portion of
the national budget in the
area of higher education
funding.
Ann Block said ASUN
and GLC were urging people
to vote for the House ver
sion and not the Senate
version.
