to Pontius gospel instructs Falwel.
The Moral Majority, thank heavan, is not resting on its
laurels. Its founder, the Rev, Jerry Falwell, says it will
continue to work on Capitol Hill for its causes, which in
clude less smut and more defense spending.
May we think Rev. Falwell favors a bigger defense bud
get simply because he is an expert on global strategic
planning. The real reason, however, is that he is a devout
born-again Christian. He obviously takes his doctrine
straight from that little known book of the Bible-'The
Gospel According to St. Pontius."
Excerpts follow:
And seeing the multitudes, the Lord went up into a
mountain and when he was set, his disciples came unto
him. And he taught them, saying:

space suits), gas turbines in electric power generation and

NASTRAN. Mathematicia found that by the early 1980s
the return to the national economy from the secondary
applications of those four examples would be almost
$70 billion. Thus paying for about one and a half years of
the space program's existence.
In 1977, the Denver Research Institute conducted a
cost-benefit analysis of NASA: Technology Utilization
Program, and concluded that the benefit-to-cost ratio
is at least six to one--that is, for every dollar invested in
the program, there is a net gain of tangible benefits for
the economy of six dollars.
The U.S. Space Shuttle is a transportation system tor
outer space-a reusable spacecraft designed to carry dif
ferent types of payloads into earth orbit. Space can be
utilized as a resource to improve life on earth, and not
mereiy as a frontier for exploration. The goal is increased
commercial utilization-commercial utilization that will
reduce the cost of the program to the taxpayers. Direct
commercial utilization.
We don't have to go into space because of the Rus
sians. However, it is imperative we go in order to use our
technology to aid our failing economy and help solve
the problems of energy, starvation and climate.
It is inevitable that mankind will journey into outer
space, even if functional illiterates attempt to delay the
emergence of humanity into a new awareness of its destiny.

weapons makers, we must give less money to the poor and
sick. But I say unto thee, what have the poor and the sick
ever done for Judea? Verily, it is easier for a camel to go
through the eye of the needle than for a poor man to get
off welfare.
"After this manner therefore pray ye: Our missiles
which art in our arsenal, hallowed be thy name. Our
kingdom come. Our will be done on earth, as it is in Ju
dea. "Give us this day our daily security. And forgive us
our national debt, as we can never repay it anyway. And
lead us not into the United Nations, but deliver us from
the commies. For thine is the global strategic authority,
the power and the glory, forever. Amen."
And, lo, when the Lord came down from the mount
ain, great multitudes followed him. And they voted as
he told them. And the lawmakers kneeled before him,
nervously beseeching his wise counsel. As he made of
Judea the most feared nation on earth.
And that is why the people to this day call him Our
Savior.
