monday, november3, 1980 daily nebraskan page 5 n. to the editor Continued from Page 4 During the past 14 months, LTS has experienced a dramatic increase in ridership. In view of this, the system has consistently responded with new innovations (pass portssubscription service), route extensions and frequent schedule adjustments. Today, LTS is rapidly reaching its full level of potential given the current amount of equipment available. How ever, ridership and demands for more service continue to rise. It is hardly the time for LTS to become static. It is imperative and very crucial therefore that for LTS to continue to meet the transportation needs of Lincoln the Transit Bond Issue must be approved by voters Nov. The membership of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1293 strongly urges everyone to vote yes on the Transit Bond Issue so that they may continue to best serve the transportation needs of Lincoln and to meet that challenge with confidence and pride.
