Barn may be just the place you're looking for if you want live music without alcohol and smoke in the room. The Glory Barn is a non -denomination-al, indepcndant, evangelical coffee house located one block north of 84th and Vine Street. It is the brainchild of Chris John son, a UNL music senior. He along with his wife, Lori, and three couples co-manage it as an alternate to the bar scene. 4Wc wanted a place where you could have fun, fellowship and still enjoy good music," Johnson said. Hay, straw and blankets cover the floor. About the only thing missing was the ani mals. The entertainment varies each week, from local groups with some UNL alumni to groups from as far away as California. Admission is free. Saturday's singer was Paul Blanchard, a Kearney State singer, who sang and played some original pieces on his guitar, as well as pieces by Bruce Cockbum and Jazz guitarist Terry Talbort. The audience was a mixture of teen agers to middle-aged couples. This Thursday the Glory Barn, the Potters House in Seward and KBUL. Radio are co-sponsoring Daybreak, a new wave (reggae), contemporary gospel group from Pennsylvania. A local group, Hope, which includes some UNL alumni, will be the opening act. The free concert will be 7:30 pjn. at First Baptist Church, 14th & K. The Glory Barn will be moving Oct. 11 to the corner of 25th & S Streets, until a permanent location can be found.
