It is up to the students of
this university to exercise
their right to restrain those
who govern them. A unit
ed voice of the student
body cannot be squelched
or restrained by regent by
laws. After all, a university
is an open forum for
thought, so you had better
express your thoughts too
before you are unable.

I would like to make a
few comments about a re
view written by Carl Sjulin.
This article appeared in the
Arts-Entertainment section
of the Sept. 15 issue of the
Daily Nebraskan.
First, as a frequent cust
omer of the new Kilroy's
Lounge, I was dismayed at
the misrepresentations and
mistakes that appeared in
Sjulin 's article.
The words "dining out"
that appear in bold print in
the article was not correct.
Kilroy's does now service
Pickle Bill's your favorite
cocktails and beverages. It is
not just a "waiting room"
for Pickle Bill's, but a full
service lounge in itself.
Also he describes "a
small sketch of a jazz
combo," on the wall. If
Sjulin had any knowledge of
this era, he would have im
mediately recognized the
"sketch" as a life-size mural
of the Glenn Miller Band.
Perhaps Sjulin should
have researched for this
article a little more. And yet
all of this could make for
a usuilly able critiaue,
except for a few minor (yet
irritable) details. The gener
al manager's name is Sydne
Moser not Sydne Mosen.
The bar manager's name is
Kim Morbach not Kim
Marbac.
Prices on beer range from
75 cents to $130. Mixed
drinks range from $125 to
$1.75, depending on your
taste. Seating is made up of
several tables that will seat
upto six people, some that
will seat eight people and
the usual amount that hold
two to four.
Sjujin's lack of attention
to details reflects some very
closed-minded journalism,
not at all on par with the
quality of journalism re
flected in the rest of your
format.

Editor's note: Sjulin had
spelled the names correctly
and the misspellings occured
in the paper's production.
The term "dining out"
which appeared in the story
was an editor's decision and
not Sjulin's.

Last week, a letter to the
Editor from Dan Meehan
criticized ASUN for reserv
ing a picture from the UPC
Art Lending Library. The
intent of this letter is to re
cognize the legitimacy of
Meehan's complaint.
A host of circumstances
surrounded ASUN's actions
in reserving the pictures,
however, in retrospect the
circumstances serve only as
excuses. Meehan was
appropriate in his criticism.
ASUN should not have
taken the liberty of reserv
ing the pictures when other
students were required to go
through a "first-come-first-serve"
process. It was a
situation where all concerns
were not given adequate
consideration.
It is this type of action,
regardless of the issue, that
harms any organization, and
we realize mat. However,
our intentions this year are
to admit to the student
population any inappropri
ate action rather than keep
ing such accounts private.
We are contacting Mr.
Meehan and offering him
the picture we have in our
possession. Furthermore, we
apologize to him and the
student body for the occur
rence of this incident.
