thursday, September 18, 1980 daily nebraskan pags3 ASUN resolul Pub Board in Coe dispute By Patti GaBagher A resolution supporting the action of the UNL Publications Board in dealing with the James Coe letter disclosure was passed from new business to old business, Wednesday night at the ASUN Senate meeting. The resolution, passed on a 17-13-1 , vote, stated in part that the "Senate con demns the regents' resolution" (asking for further action on the incident), and "con demns the regents' threat to amend the UNL bylaws concerning the Publications Board." The regents said at their Friday meeting that action might be taken to restructure the Publications Board. The Senate heard from two Publications Board members, Chairman Mark Bowens ind Board Member Hubert Brown, review ;d action taken by the board and' the NU Board of Regents in the handling of the ASUN President Renee Wessels said she net Wednesday with Interim Chancellor Robert Rutford and others to discuss the natter. Wessels also said she agreed with the iction in the incident, saying, "the board Jcted in a very judicious manner." In other action, a resolution requiring ill students to take six hours of ethnic and Aromen studies courses was killed on the Senate floor and moved into committee. The resolution would require the cours ;s to be included as part of each student's regular social science or humanities require nents. It would not, however, require stu dents to take any additional hours in social sciences or humanities than is presently nandated by their college.
