Bus services
on weekends
are increased
Starting Sept. 5, students going home on week ends
can take advantage of a new bus service.
Two buses, one to Omaha and one westbound on High
way 30, will depart from the Nebraska Union Friday
afternoons.
The new bus service is a project of the Nebrraska
Uruon Board in cooperation with Greyhound Bus Lines.
The bus to Omaha wi3 leave at 3:20 p-m and .the
wcObound bus at 3:40 pm. according to Ed Dorsey
of Greyhound Bus lines, Lincoln.
Major dsop-off points in western Nebraska are Grand
Island, Kearney, Ogallala and Sidney, Dorsey said.
Omaha students will be dropped off at the Greyhound
Bus Depot at 18th and Famam Streets or at 134th Old L
St. at Millard.
Students returning to Lincoln from Omaha can use the
Sunday evening "Student Special" which departs at 6:30
p jn. from both Omaha depots.
Dorsey said bus schedules for westbound students
would be made available at the south desk in the Union.
Frank Kuhn. assistant director of union, said additional
information would be posted at the south desk, either
today or iftursday.
Kuhn said bus service would run on a "priority
system.' Students could come to the south desk during
the week and fill out reservation cards, thus assuring
themselves seats on the buses, which seat 43.
Kuhn said those without reservation cards could still
get seats if the buses were not full.
A round-trip ticket to Omaha costs S7.70 and a one
way ticket is $450, Kuhn said. Rates for westbound buses
will be posted.
Tickets will be sold at the south desk Fridays from
2:30 until the time the buses depart.
The bus service is open to the public and riders are res
ponsible for their own luggage, Kuhn said.
