but Mike and other Nebraskans have helped change my
mind to a certain degree, Daniel said.
Mike observed that living in two cultures under one
roof isn't all roses, but their conflicts are minor. Music
was the main cultural clash Mike experienced.
When we first became roommates, he played some
Chilean music. It was fine for a while, but too much ex.
posure to it would drive me wacky, he said.
Humor has crept into their relationship continually
over the past two years.
Mike commented, I found out the women in Chile
are very conservative, and I had a heck of a time teaching
him the American way of meeting women."
But Daniel thought something else he learned was
quite important.
' 4One of the things I am grateful to Mike for, is that
he made me realize how good beer tastes."
Mike chimed in: "And now he's a real beer man."
